Especially considering the ordeal was accompanied by the discovery that back in the day he possibly fathered a daughter – who was killed, along with her mother during his imprisonment…

Previously in Guardians of the Galaxy…  The mysterious figure of Angela was sucked into our galaxy due to some crazy breaking of the space-time continuum (totally the fault of the Avengers). Now, she’s pretty disorientated trying to find her place in universe with the help of the Guardians of the Galaxy, who have just welcomed Agent Venom into their ranks!

And things haven’t exactly gone well for the team, with their greatest enemies capturing and separating them, leaving Venom stranded alone on a strange alien world…
