It has been a big week for Superman and DC Comics this week, what with the 75th anniversary of the Man of Tomorrow to celebrate, the launch of a new ongoing series, and the release of Man of Steel in theaters. With the superstar team of Scott Snyder and Jim Lee handed the reins of Superman Unchained, do the duo give the Man of Steel a new lease of life in the New 52, or does this opening issue fall flat?
With the release of Man of Steel looming around the corner, it’s about the time that comic fans new and old are turning around to find the best of the best when it comes to Superman stories. Which comics should the new fans read? What stories have old fans overlooked? What stories should they revisit?

This week sees the culmination of Geoff Johns’ nine year run on Green Lantern, as Wrath of the First Lantern concludes, leading to creative changes across the board on the Lantern titles. And over at Marvel, the Age of Ultron rages onwards with contributions from the Fearless Defenders and Uncanny Avengers!

We strangely have the start of the aftermath to the final Geoff Johns Green Lantern story, as the first epilogue to “Wrath of the First Lantern” arrives in the pages of Green Lantern Corps #20! If anything, though, it’s business as usual this week, with the next issues of some great titles hitting the shelves; a maybe a new series or two as well!

I'm currently rewatching Beast Wars and jotting down my thoughts on each episode in a little segment called 'Beast Wars Retrospective', which I'm trying to post on a regular basis.
