No this isn’t another Batman side story or Elseworlds series. Batman is coming to Brazil to help fight crime.
Well, at least a real-life crime fighter impersonating the comic icon will be combating crime.
More details after the break.
Rumors of a sequel or prequel to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons seminal series have been circulating for a good while now. Actually, they’ve been going around for several years. All the while there’s never been conclusive evidence until today.
Hot off the tails of yesterdays news about some creative switch-ups on a few books, DC has officially announced “Before Watchmen”.
——
This summer DC will begin publishing (seemingly one issue per week) a series of mini-series that focus on the main characters from Watchmen. The creative teams for these series are as follows:
- RORSCHACH (4 issues) - Writer: Brian Azzarello. Artist: Lee Bermejo
- MINUTEMEN (6 issues) - Writer/Artist: Darwyn Cooke
- COMEDIAN (6 issues) Writer: Brian Azzarello. Artist: JG Jones
- DR. MANHATTAN (4 issues) - Writer: J. Michael Straczynski. Artist: Adam Hughes
- NITE OWL (4 issues) - Writer: J. Michael Straczynski. Artists: Andy and Joe Kubert
- OZYMANDIAS (6 issues) - Writer: Len Wein. Artist: Jae Lee
- SILK SPECTRE (4 issues) - Writer: Darwyn Cooke. Artist: Amanda Conner
DC claims that each week new issues will be released, so I’m going to just guess that this is going to be a 34-week event. Each issue will also feature a backup story called CURSE OF THE CRIMSON CORSAIR by Len Wein and John Higgins, and everything will be followed up by the single issue, BEFORE WATCHMEN: PROLOGUE.
So whether you’ve been wanting something like this to happen, or you’ve been cringing at the idea of more Watchmen material, it’s officially happening. In my opinion, it couldn’t have been handled any better way than it is being done. Look forward for more news to come in the near future.

I really wasn’t feeling a prequel before, but looking at some of those creative teams…
I’m interested.
For those of you who don’t like to buy single issues and have decided to wait on the collected editions of DC’s 52 ongoing series, they’ve just now released the release dates for the first collections of every series (except for Wonder Woman), as well as what issues will be included in each volume.
The first volumes will be released from May through November of 2012.
Read on to see when the books you’re looking forward to will be shipping.
Newsarama is reporting that as of Superman #7, George Pérez will be off writing and breakdown duties, and will be replaced by the new Green Arrow creative team - Keith Giffen and Dan Jurgens.
Whether or not Pérez has left the title entirely is still in question however, as he may remain on inking duties, which he also currently handles on Green Arrow.
It’s scaring me how many writers and artists are jumping ship after just a few issues of the relaunch…
I wouldn’t really call it jumping ship though. I mean, Krul is still writing for DC, and Pérez is still involved too.
No idea about John Rozum on Static Shock though.
Comic retailers and collectors in the general St. Louis area should be aware of anyone selling Superman memorabilia and comics. 48-year-old Mike Meyer, a mentally disabled fan from Granite City, Illinois, was robbed of thousands of dollars worth of his personal collection a couple of weeks ago.
Details below.
I really hope they find this bastard asshole who nicked his stuff and give him a decent time in jail. This story makes me so angry at people.
The guy is scum, plain and simple.
I really hope that Meyer gets his stuff back.
First Teaser Poster For The Amazing Spider-Man Is Released
Just one day after the official release of the first trailer, the teaser poster for The Amazing Spider-Man has been released. What’s more, is that it’s been released a day before the Sony Pictures presentation at the San Diego Comic-Con, which seems a tad off to me.
The poster itself is nothing amazing, but I do think that it is a real good teaser to remind you (as if you needed it) that Spidey will be swinging back into theatres July 3, 2012.

According to Joystiq, the soundtrack for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will receive the orchestral treatment.
The soundtrack will be redone with more of a symphonic punch thanks to Microsoft Senior Audio Director Krstofor Mellroth and Pyramind Studios COO/Audio Director Paul Lipson. It will also include the Skywalker Symphony Orchestra and San Francisco-based vocal group Chanticleer.
“We are striving to create the ultimate love letter to Halo fans, and celebrate Marty O’Donnell’s and Michael Salvatori’s original vision with grace and style,” Mellroth said.
So does the string section hit the crescendo before the loud voice yells “Slayer!” or afterwards?

Just makes me look forward to this game more and more. The soundtrack is yet another thing that I love about the Halo games.
For some reason, I was approached to become a member of Population GO. After having a quick look around, I decided to take them up on this offer since well, I’m a bit of a geek.
This might surprise you, but over there I’ll be writing about comics. I know, shocker right?
Anyway, normal service will continue here but I’ll be sharing my reviews over there, as well as trying to post any news that interests me, or other related nonsense.
So yeah, check it out.
So yeah, this little lovely blog thing has been dead recently. The reason suprisingly enough, is not that I neglected it, but my old Wamtop decided to blue screen of death me as the hard drive died. Oh, and I have no back up for all my files, so that was pretty annoying. And by that, I mean it was damn annoying.
Anyway, it’s taken me a while to get back up and running again as my laptop died just before a scheduled holiday with friends, which I had agreed to go on in an attempt to try to be a young British stereotype and interact with other yobs. It was… pleasant enough actually.
Anyway, I’ll bring this ramble to an end. Back to spamming of what I’m reading, and I’ll actually get to finish the 30 days meme I was doing. Good times.
