The Weekly Pull List: 05/30/12

populationgo:

Hello and welcome, to the latest edition of the Weekly Pull List!

As usual, I am joined by fellow comics contributors Chris (littleyellowboxes) and Ryley (ryley-stbatman), as we detail five picks from our Pull Lists for the week.

It is looking a fairly slender week in terms of issues hitting the shelves for us, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t some top quality stuff out there, with DC’s highly anticipated Animal Man and Batman Annuals being released.

Curious to see what we picked? Then read on!

Official “Avengers” Cinematic Timeline
(Click through for a larger image)
Marvel unveiled its official timeline of events for its Avengers-related films. It models the timeline after Christianity’s calendar replacing Jesus at the center with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man. Where as Christian calendars are broken up into B.C and A.D (Before Christ and Anno Domini) this Avengers timeline is broken up into BIM and AIM (Before Iron Man and After Iron Man).
The timeline chronicles all of the events depicted in the six films from starting with the Jotunehim invasion of Midgard/Earth all the way up to when Avengers assemble.
Of note is the exclusion of Aang Lee’s Hulk clarifying for fans whether or not Louis Letterier’s The Incredible Hulk was a direct sequel or not.

Top 5 Tuesday: Comic Book Films

populationgo:

Not sure if you’ve heard, but some film called The Avengers is set to release nationwide this weekend. The film is combining the joint efforts of a handful of comic book films released over the last few years — Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger — and combining a handful of Marvel’s premier heroes and franchises.

With such a major collaboration of comic book films due to explode on big screens, it got us thinking: What have been the best comic book adapted films ever created?

To help answer that question, Pop GO comic book contributors — Chris, Ryley and Sam — and film contributors — Paolo and Steve — personally ranked their favorite comic book films of all-time, and in a collaboration of their own, all came up with the 5 best.

Hit the break to view Pop GO’s (pre-Avengers) Top 5 comic book films of all-time!
