I’m kidding. The real box is just Supes, of course.
Awesome. I’m really looking forward to this. I want to see if they can capture the magic.

I got interested in this Image comic off the back of playing the video game. I really enjoyed it the game, and decided to give the comic series a go. Before this trade paperback volume is the 40 issue series that is collected in 3 trades or a lovely compendium, which I have read. My thoughts on that briefly are that it was a fairly entertaining read, although the series was a bit hit and miss, and I’d summarise it as being a series with potential that lost it way slightly rather than anything else.
That changed with #40, where Paul Jenkins ended the series with a massive explosion (literally) and set the way for a relaunch, which aimed to change the series direction, whilst making it accessible for new readers. So is this relaunch worth a look?
“If you like Cable, or Deadpool, then read this series. They’re both superbly written, and Deadpool doesn’t get nearly enough coverage as he should these days. Hopefully with his own solo series once more, it might get noticed more, so if you do plan on getting this, get it now,…
It was more for the amusement of that fact that less then 2 years ago, he didn’t get enough coverage and you were hoping he’s get some more exposure lol.

Oh, how things have changed since December 2008, eh Lem? :P
For anyone wondering, the above is a quote taken out of littleyellowboxes’ overall review of Cable and Deadpool.
If for some reason you read these little notes that are mainly to myself, I’m now slapping a self-imposed ban on buying tpbs from Forbidden Planet. I’m also going to resist ordering stuff online, but there’s this 10% off deal at Book Depository right now, so I may treat myself after the evil essays are done.
Anyway, I’m stopping buying since I reckon it’d be wise to take a wee break from spending impulsively. Add to that, the fact that I currently have a pile of 20 tpbs to read in my room at Uni, and then another 6 arriving at home soon… yeah, I should start reading and stop buying.
I think the recent splurge can be summed up quite nicely looking at my JLA and Green Arrow tpbs. When I went back to Uni at the start of October I had;
I’m breaking my trend of only reviewing trade paperbacks here because this giant sized reprint issue was recently released, and it reprints four of the Judd Winick issues that have never been collected before, which come between the first and second tpbs (I’ve reviewed the first one, New Journey, Old Path here).
Part of the ‘DC Comics Presents’ line which reprint material that has not been collected since its original publication, these four issues spotlight Kyle Rayner and Jade, who at the time were romantically involved. So, is this worth buying for the casual reader, or only for fans of the characters?
As I was looking at the newest licensed superhero t-shirts I came across a few I want and these. They’re fine. I know some women will love to wear them. I might wear one. But I wondered why they only make this theme of t-shirt for women?
Shouldn’t there be some with the same idea for men (and women) who like female heroes?
Seriously I need to stop myself. Maybe I will resist for like 5-6 weeks after this little spree. I’ve already ordered Cable & Deadpool v7, and now I’m looking at another 7 trades (and I must add, I still haven’t even started reading stuff from my last hit).
Is is seriously lame/incredibly sad that I’m already looking ahead to what I’ll buy from my list in January and February?
You know, if Tumblr que fucks this up, i will not be happy, but of course that will never happen.
Anyways, thank you all for sticking with me since post #1, i know its mostly been reviews, comic news and something im either excited for or angry at, but its been nice to have all 7 of you following me.
My dream now is to have 10 followers by 150.
I know, dodgy right…
Anyway… 100 Posts… WOOOOO
Big dreams AJ. Big dreams. Somewhat similar to my own.
To any of you who follow me for whatever reason, help a poor soul realise his dream.
